Women in Tech 2019 is Tufts University's third annual conference celebrating women and non-binary individuals in technology. The conference strives to foster a community that empowers women and non-binary people, expose attendees to new and exciting Computer Science concepts, and prepare them to launch careers in the tech field. There will be plenty of amazing speakers, demonstrations, and opportunities to network. The conference is open to all college and high school students, and there will be registration online closer to the date of the conference. It is free to attend and will be located at 574 Boston Ave at Tufts University.
This year's conference will be held all day from 9:30am to 5:30pm on September 14th, 2019. Please save the date if you are interested!

Our Goals
- To welcome high school students and undecided undergraduates into the tech community
- To facilitate students’ exploration of new areas of technology and development of existing expertise
- To foster a community that empowers women and non-binary folks in tech and spotlight intersectional identities
- To prepare students for upcoming career-related events (Tufts Career Fair, GHC)
- To introduce role models and mentors who want to share their personal and technical experiences with students

250 AttendeesAttracting 250 attendees from 8 different colleges and 3 high schools, last year’s Women in Tech Conference established a tradition at Tufts of women and non-binary folks coming together to foster a community in technology.

WiT 2018 successfully introduced students to a variety of topics, ranging from Cybersecurity to Big Data to Using Technology for Social Good.

20 Speakers
Distinguished speakers at WiT 2018 include Daphne Larose, founder of the blog BlackFemaleCoders and a software engineer at Niantic; Taniya Mishra, Director of A.I. Research and Lead Speech Scientist at Affectiva; and Anna Rumshisky, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
